Here I Stand, desperate quite and alone

Searching for forgiveness and a path to call my own

All we are is all we’ve left to find

Seeking our existence in this space and time



Dreams wake to tell of tales untold

Beauty breaks, as winds of change unfold

And I don’t think I can make it on my own



And here she danced, as the lonesome fiddle called

Taking heed of the warning as the Cold Mountain falls

And here you find a light that guides from within

But death has no mercy for the fiddle and gin
